The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has commenced the sale of Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms for its forthcoming congresses and national convention.
In a notice issued by the party’s National Organising Secretary, Pa Idigo, members interested in contesting elective positions at ward, local government, state, and national levels were invited to purchase the required forms.
The party outlined varying fees depending on the position. At the ward level, Expression of Interest forms cost ₦2,000, while nomination fees range from ₦3,000 to ₦10,000. For local government positions, forms cost between ₦10,000 and ₦40,000. State-level positions attract higher fees, with State Chairman forms pegged at ₦500,000 and State Secretary at ₦300,000.
At the national level, delegates to the convention are required to pay ₦10,000 each, with every local government expected to produce one delegate.
ADC also stated that aspirants must secure a specified number of nominators. Ward Chairman candidates require 10 nominators, while local government and state chairmanship aspirants must have 20 and 50 nominators respectively, drawn from across their constituencies.
Each nominator is also expected to pay a non-refundable fee of ₦50.
The party fixed March 27, 2026, as the deadline for submission of forms, while screening of aspirants is scheduled for March 30 and 31.
According to the timetable, ward congresses will hold on April 7, followed by local government congresses on April 9, state congresses on April 11, and the National Convention on April 14.
The exercise is part of preparations for the party’s internal elections ahead of future political contests.
