JUST IN: Admiral Gambo takes over as new Chief of Naval Staff

Rear Admiral Awwal Zubairu Gambo has taken over Command as the 21st indigenous Chief of Naval Staff after president Mohammadu Buhari fired the top security Chiefs on Monday.

Recall that President Mohammadu Buhari was under serious fire to sack the former top security egg heads after the level of insecurity across the country exacerbated with many slaughtered in the Northern part of the country by Bokoharam terrorists.

Gambo who is an indigene of Nasarawa Local government of Kano State was born on 22 April 1966

He joined the Nigerian Navy in 1984 as a member of the Regular Course 36 and was commissioned Sub-Lieutenant in 1988.

Outgoing CNS, Vice Admiral Ibot Ekwe-Ibas, tasked Gambo to sustain pressure on oil thieves and secure the nation’s maritime sector
