Afenifere leader, Chief Ayo Adebanjo, is dead, Diaspora Digital Media (DDM), has learnt.

Chief Adebanjo died aged 96.

Reacting to his death, Senator Shehu Sani said on his X handle, @ShehuSani:

“Ayo Adebanjo; Nigeria has lost an indefatigable fighter for Justice and equitable society.

“He was a marathoner in the pursuit of the cause of freedom and democracy.

“Pa Ayo was an exemplar of longevity with a cause, conscience and purpose.

“May his soul rest in peace, Ameen.”
