Governor Hope Uzodimma has reportedly been removed as chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum following a late-night meeting of governors elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress.
The development came just hours after Uzodimma represented APC governors at the submission of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s presidential nomination and expression of interest forms in Abuja on Thursday.
According to reports by Arise News, the decision was reached during an extraordinary meeting attended by about 20 governors aligned with the ruling party.
Sources said the meeting, held in Abuja on Thursday night, had governors from several states in attendance, including Ogun, Bayelsa and Enugu, while about 17 governors reportedly participated directly in the deliberations.
Details surrounding the decision were still sketchy as of press time, and no official statement had yet been issued by the forum or the APC leadership.
