JUST IN: Court reserves ruling in gov Abba Yusuf’s appeal

The Court of Appeal in Abuja has reserved judgement in the appeal lodged by the Kano State governor, Abba Yusuf challenging his sack by the election petition tribunal last September.

Recall that in September, the tribunal declared Yusuf’s election illegitimate, ruling that 165,663 of his votes were invalid.

The panel ruled that the Independent National Electoral Commission did not sign or stamp the ballot papers, as a result, the All Progressives Congress candidate, Nasiru Gawuna, was announced the winner of the governorship poll.

But not satisfied with the ruling, Yusuf appealed against the tribunal verdict and urged the court to set aside the judgment.
