Operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) have reportedly raided the Abuja office of the Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP).
The officers of the secret police were reportedly asking to meet with the rights group’s directors during the raid.
In a post shared on the official X handle of the civil society group, the organization confirmed the presence of DSS operatives in their office.
The post reads, “Officers from Nigeria’s State Security Service (SSS) are presently unlawfully occupying SERAP’s office in Abuja, asking to see our directors.”
Though, at the time of filing this report, no reason has been given for the action of the DSS.
