Hon Felicia Bassey has just emerged as the Deputy Speaker of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly.

Hon Felicia Bassey has just emerged as the Deputy Speaker of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly.

According to our correspondent, Mr. Inibehe Effiong, her opponent was bullied out of the race because of the interest of the ‘owners’ of the State.

He also said that Hon. Bassey was a close disciple of the wife of the former governor of Akwa Ibom State, Mrs Ekaette Unoma Akpabio.

Recently, the Court of Appeal nullified the election of the former Speaker of the Akwa Ibom House of Assembly, Aniekan Uko, paving the way for the emergence of Hon. Onofiok Luke as the new speaker of the House.
