JUST IN: Former police chief, Tafa Balogun is dead

Mustapha (Tafa) Balogun, a former Nigerian Inspector-General of Police (IGP), is dead.

Balogun who became IGP under the administration of President Olusegun Obasanjo in 2002, died on Thursday, according to family sources.

Though, details of his death, however, remain sketchy at the moment.

The late Balogun was born on August 8, 1947 at Ila-Orangun in Osun State.

He was the 21st Inspector-General of Police.
