Hamas, a Palestinian political and terrorist organization that currently governs the Gaza Strip, has told the residents of the Israeli city, Ashkelon, to desert the city by 5.00pm today in what is believed to be obvious reprisal attack in the three-day war.
The threat was issued by the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, named after Izz ad-Din al-Qassam, the military wing of the Palestinian organization Hamas.
It is currently led by Mohammed Deif and his deputy, Marwan Issa.
Al-Qasaam Brigades said: “We are responding to the crime of the enemy that is displacing our people and forcing them to leave their homes in various areas of Gaza Strip.
“We are giving the residents of the occupied city of Ashkelon a deadline to leave it before 5pm today.”
The threat came forty-eight hours after Israel launched a devastating retaliatory attack following a Hamas attack on Israeli cities killing hundreds of Israelites, including women, youths and children celebrating in an open field.
Sources say that the total human casualties in the war have already exceeded one thousand, six hundred and are still counting.
