JUST IN: Immigration Increases Passport Fees

The Federal Government has approved a significant increase in Nigerian passport fees, effective September 1, 2025, the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) announced on Thursday, August 28, 2025.

Spokesperson A.S. Akinlabi stated that the fee review is intended to maintain the quality and integrity of the Nigerian Standard Passport.

New Passport Fee Structure in Nigeria

  • 32-page passport (5-year validity): N100,000
  • 64-page passport (10-year validity): N200,000

Passport Fees for Nigerians Abroad

For Nigerians living in the diaspora, passport fees remain unchanged:

  • 32-page (5-year validity): $150
  • 64-page (10-year validity): $230

Akinlabi emphasized that the NIS is committed to balancing quality service delivery with accessibility, ensuring that passport services remain within reach for all Nigerians.

“The review only affects passport application fees made within Nigeria,” he added.

The NIS urged applicants to plan ahead for the new fees and continue using official channels to apply for passports.
