Alex Otti no fit tell him supporters make dem go another party – Abia LP Chairman

Local government workers across Ukwa East, Ukwa West, and Ugwunagbo have publicly endorsed Governor Alex Otti for a second term in office, citing his commitment to financial accountability and welfare reform.

Diaspora Digital Media (DDM) reports that the endorsement came during a gathering organized by the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), where union leaders described Otti’s payment of salaries and pensions as “unprecedented in the state’s history.”

The workers credited the governor with ending years of irregular salary disbursement, pension arrears, and neglect, especially at the grassroots level.

Speaking on behalf of the employees, the Chairman of the Abia State Local Government Service Commission applauded Otti’s people-first approach to governance. He urged civil servants to match the administration’s integrity with renewed dedication and professionalism.

According to him, “Governor Otti has shown exceptional commitment to the welfare of local government staff. His consistent payment of salaries and pensions, without fail, is a feat no previous administration in Abia has managed.”

Workers at the event echoed similar sentiments, expressing relief and optimism over what they described as a “new era of governance” under the Otti-led administration.

NULGE leadership noted that for the first time in decades, local government staff are not only receiving their entitlements on time but are also being treated with dignity and respect.

The endorsement comes ahead of a likely re-election campaign for Otti, who has not yet formally declared his intention to run.

However, growing grassroots support from organized labor groups such as NULGE may signal broad approval for his style of governance, especially among public sector workers long disenfranchised by previous administrations.

As political observers turn their eyes to 2027, the endorsement could serve as a strong foundation for a second-term campaign grounded in fiscal reform, accountability, and workers’ welfare.
