Just in: Loud explosions shake Qatari capital amid reported missile strikes by Iran
DDM News

Panic gripped residents of Doha on June 23 as loud explosions echoed across the Qatari capital following reported missile strikes by Iran.
Diaspora Digital Media (DDM) learned from eyewitness accounts that families were caught off guard as no public warnings were issued by Qatari authorities.
A Doha-based father of two described the experience as terrifying and chaotic, revealing that his children were unprepared for the sudden blast.
“Our kids were totally taken by surprise and didn’t know what to do when we scrambled them to shelter,” the resident told CNN.
“There was no warning from Qatar authorities to take shelter. There appear to be a lot of outgoing fire and intercepts,” he added.
Photographs from the aftermath showed smoke trails in the sky above Doha, which were reportedly from attempted interceptions of incoming missiles.
Iran’s armed forces have claimed responsibility for targeting Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar as part of a broader missile attack campaign.
The strike on Al Udeid came amid escalating tensions between Tehran and Washington, with US military installations across the Gulf placed on high alert.
Al Udeid Air Base is the largest US military facility in the Middle East and a strategic operations hub for American and coalition forces.
The June 23 attack follows earlier reports of missiles launched toward both Qatar and Iraq, raising concerns of a broader regional escalation.
As of now, Qatari authorities have not issued any official statement or explanation regarding public safety protocols or the absence of alerts.
Security analysts warn that the lack of preparedness among civilians highlights critical gaps in Qatar’s emergency response infrastructure.
US officials are continuing to monitor the situation closely, with intelligence reports indicating that more attacks from Iran could follow.
The Pentagon is expected to evaluate the effectiveness of current missile defense systems and review military preparedness across the region.
