Luton Town’s Premier League match at Bournemouth has been suspended after their team captain, Tom Lockyer collapsed on the pitch.

Tom Lockyer, who has played centre-back for Luton since 2020, was taken off the pitch during the second half after receiving medical treatment.

The 29 year old Welsh footballer has 16 caps for his country and helped Luton achieve promotion to the top-flight last season.

Meanwhile, Premier League authorities confirmed the match has been suspended in a statement.

Part of the statement reads, “The Premier League match between AFC Bournemouth and Luton Town FC has been abandoned due to a player medical incident.

“Our thoughts are with Tom Lockyer and all players involved in today’s match.”
