JUST IN: Protesters set bonfire outside Kano govt house

Some angry Nigerians protesting against economic hardship have set up a bonfire in front of the Government House in Kano State on Thursday morning.

The protesters from various parts of the city had converged at the Government House, waiting for the governor, Abba Yusuf to address them.

According to Dailytrust, as they approached the gate, a group of protesters assembled tires and set them ablaze.

Meanwhile, in response, security operatives at the Government House fired gunshots and teargas to disperse the crowd.

The ensuing chaos caused the protesters to flee in different directions.
