The House of Representatives has withdrawn its constitutional amendment bill seeking the establishment of state police to allow lawmakers consider the Executive’s version of the proposal.
During plenary on Tuesday, the House gave the Executive-sponsored state police bill its first and second readings before referring it to the House Committee on Constitutional Review for further legislative work.
The decision marks a shift in the legislative process, with lawmakers now focusing on the Executive’s proposal as efforts to amend the Constitution and establish state police continue.
