About four personnel of the Nigerian army have been reportedly crushed to death and others injured following an incident in the Morocco area of Shomolu, Lagos State.
The unfortunate incident, which occurred in the wee hours of Friday, has left the military community in shock.
News Band gathered that the incident took place during morning exercise when a suspected drunk driver rammed his vehicle into a group of soldiers attached to the Myoung Barracks in Yaba.
One of the soldiers at the scene while speaking on the tragic incident said, “There’s blood everywhere. I was spared because I was at the back.”
The soldier, whose name has been withheld, recounted that the car was carrying three young men suspected to be internet fraudsters, commonly known as “Yahoo Boys.”
The military officer said one of the occupants fled the scene immediately. The remaining two suspects were apprehended by the soldiers and beaten.
Their vehicle was immediately vandalized.
