JUST IN: UAE delegation arrives Nigeria over visa ban issues

Share this:

A delegation from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has arrived in Nigeria to deliberate on issues revolving around the visa ban imposed on Nigerians.

News Band gathered that the delegation arrived Abuja on Sunday to finalize discussions regarding the possible lifting of the visa ban on Nigeria and the resumption of flight services between the two countries.

Besides finalizing discussion regarding the possible modalities for lifting the visa ban, the delegation will as well deliberate on other bilateral issues between the two countries.

It could be recalled that News Band recently reported that the Federal Government claimed that after a historic meeting between President Bola Tinubu and the President of United Arab Emirates, Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the visa ban which was placed on Nigerians under the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari, was lifted.

The Senior Special Assistant to the President, Mr. Ajuri Ngelale, further claimed that both Etihad Airlines and Emirates Airlines are to immediately resume flight schedules into and out of Nigeria, without any further delay.

However, a news report about the meeting by the UAE news agency failed to confirm the developments disclosed by the presidential spokesman.

The news report by the UAE media agency, rather, said that during the meeting, which took place at Qasr Al Shati in Abu Dhabi, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed expressed hope that the two leaders will work together to reinforce ties between the UAE and Nigeria for the benefit of both countries.
