Kaduna APC Secretariat Demolition: Senate Gives El-Rufai Final Warning

Senate on Tuesday gave final warning to Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai over the demolition of head office of the All Progressive Congress (APC) faction in the state.
It was gathered that at the around 4:00 am on Tuesday morning, the head office of factional APC which is located at 11B, Sambo road, GRA Kaduna, Kaduna State under the supervision of security agencies.
However, coming under point of order, Senator Shehu Sani informed the Senate about the development in Kaduna state.
He said that the Governor of Kaduna State personally led and supervised the demolition of the new APC Office and Senator Suleiman Hunkuyi’s residence without notice.
He added that in the last two and half years, the people of the state have lived with tyranny and open dictatorship in Kaduna state.
He added that his own constituency office was attacked by violent thugs and it has been cleared that armed policemen had been used consistently to unleash terror in the state.
Sympathizing with Senator Suleiman Hunkuyi who was affected by the demolition, the Deputy Senate President, Senator Ike Ekweremadu condemned the act and warned that the act must not happen again.
Ekweremadu said: “Democracy does not come with this type of tyranny and impunity. I condemn this act and hope it doesn’t happen again.
“There must not be abuse of power and office, there’s a limit to the patience of our people. I sympathize with the Sen. who lost his building.”
