Kaduna Killings: El-Rufai Lied, Kaduna PDP

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Kaduna branch, has rejected the story being peddled by the state governor, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai about Fulani herdsmen killing 66 persons

PDP, in a press statement signed by Kaduna State Publicity Secretary, Abraham Alberah Catoh

The statement reads:

“The State Leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP,  has received with great shock the Press Release of the Spokesman of the Kaduna State Governor,Mr Samuel Aruwan, to the effect that “the were killings in Kajuru Local Government was committed today.

“This is to State categorically that the said claim is completely false, but an incident that happened in the early morning of Tuesday,12th February,2019, at about 1 a.m, at Gindin Gada, Maro Ward of Kajuru Local Government, in Kaduna State.

It was an incident that happened , according to residents of the area, when some unidentified people went into the village and slaughtered 11 people in their sleep.

“Further information had revealed that two of the suspects were captured and handed over to the Divisional Police, for further investigation.

“Only this aftetnoon, the District Head of Kufana, Mr Titus Dauda, and four of his local chiefs were released after their invitation by the DSS State Command on the issue.

“The information relating to this happenstance, as narrated by Samuel Aruwan on the issue is completely not accurate, considering what really transpired.

“The PDP, under the able leadership of Hon Felix Hassan Hyat, sympathized with the families of the slain victims and wish all the people that were injured a quick recovery.

“We also wish to call for calm, as security agencies are doing all they can to secure all citizens, especially now that elections are going to hold in less than 24 hours from now.

“All our Supporters should conduct themselves in a peaceful manner, while casting their votes during and after the elections, as victory is ours, and no amount of provocation should make them lose their cool.”
