Kano court orders sacked Abba Kabir’s govt to pay up to N30b damages for shops demolished illegally

A High Court in Kano has ordered the State Government under the outgoing Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf to pay compensation of up to N30 billion to owners of shops that were demolished.

The court held that the shops were demolished without due process by the administration which was recently sacked by the Kano State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal.

News Band learnt that this is just one judgment out of over seventy litigations before several courts.

The applicants accused the state government of high-handedness and acting outside it’s legally authorised powers.
