The Kano State House of Assembly has confirmed Murtala Garo as the new deputy governor following his screening and approval.
The confirmation came after lawmakers adopted the report of a special committee set up to review his nomination.
The committee said Garo’s credentials, experience, and understanding of governance were thoroughly assessed before recommending him for approval.
His nomination followed the resignation of former deputy governor Aminu Gwarzo.
During plenary, lawmakers unanimously endorsed the report, officially confirming Garo as deputy governor.
A statement from the governor’s office also confirmed the development, describing it as a smooth legislative process.
