Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, has ordered all political appointees serving in his administration who are yet to register with the All Progressives Congress (APC) to do so without delay, as preparations for the 2027 general elections gather momentum.
The governor said every official serving under his administration must identify with the ruling party and play an active role in strengthening its structures across the state.
Yusuf also reaffirmed Kano’s commitment to President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid, promising that the state would mobilise massive support for the APC in the next election cycle.
The governor spoke on Saturday during an interactive meeting with elected and appointed government officials at the Coronation Hall, Government House, Kano.
According to a statement issued by his spokesperson, Sunusi Tofa, Yusuf stressed that party loyalty was expected from all political office holders.
“If you are serving in this administration and have not registered as a member of the APC, you should do so immediately. Every elected and appointed official must be actively involved in building and strengthening the party ahead of 2027,” he said.
Yusuf said the Kano APC had every reason to stand firmly behind Tinubu, describing the President’s re-election as a collective responsibility for party members and government officials.
“Kano State is fully committed to ensuring victory for the APC at all levels in the 2027 general elections. We will lead the country in delivering overwhelming support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu because we believe in the direction and vision of this administration,” he said.
The governor added that his administration was determined to secure victories for the APC in the presidential, governorship, National Assembly, State Assembly and local government elections.
“Our responsibility is not limited to governance alone. We must also strengthen the party at the grassroots and consolidate its support base across the state,” he said.
As part of efforts to encourage political office holders, Yusuf approved the allocation of plots of land to more than 300 aides, including Senior Special Assistants, Special Assistants, Senior Special Reporters, Special Reporters and Personal Assistants.
Each beneficiary will also receive a cash grant of N100,000.
Speaking at the event, Speaker of the Kano State House of Assembly, Ismail Falgore, said the APC had enough achievements to present to the people ahead of the next elections.
“We have no reason to apologise for promoting the achievements of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The people deserve to know what the President is doing, just as they can see the impact of projects being executed in their communities with the support of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf,” Falgore said.
