Kano Govt condoles Zakzaky over Arba’een Trek bomb attack

Governor of Kano State, Dr Abdullahi Ganduje, has commiserated with the Leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria, Shaikh Ibraheem Zakzaky over Friday’s bomb attack on Muslims on Arba’een symbolic trek to Zaria.
About 22 people were recorded dead and many injured when a suicide bomber detonated a bomb among the trekkers at Dakasoye village, outskirt of Kura town in Kano.
A statement signed by the Kano state commissioner of Information, Comrade Muhammad Garba said Kano state Governor Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje prayed Allah to grant the deceased eternal rest and Shaikh Zakzaky and family of the deceased the fortitude to bear the loss.
Comrade Muhammad Garba explained that Governor Abdullahi Ganduje described the incident as very unfortunate. He also prayed for the quick recovery of those who sustained injuries in the blasts.

He called on the Sheikh Zakzaky his followers, and entire peoples of the country to continue to pray to God to prevent future occurrence.
“It is unfortunate that the ugly incident is happening when the country has started enjoying relative peace.
“We should continue to pray for the sustenance of peace in our state, and the country at large,” the statement stated.
Comrade Muhammad Garba said Kano state government also pledged support to those who sustained injuries.
Governor Visits victims of bomb attack
In a similar development, Governor Ganduje has visited victims of Friday Arba’een symbolic trek bomb attack at Dakasoye village, Kano state.
The Governor and his entourage were at Nassarawa and Murtala Muhammad hospitals.
Speaking to newsmen shortly, Dr. Ganduje said: “We are interacting with the Shi’ites here in Kano and the remaining parts of country. We know their faith, their religious fortitude and unparalleled good attitudes towards religious matters. We will not hold them responsible for this fatal and unfortunate incident. They were really attacked by enemies of Islam and humanity”.
He further described the incident as very unfortunate and handiwork of enemies of Islam, and therefore used the occasion to condole Leader of the Islamic Movement, Sayyid Ibraheem Zakzaky, Ameer of Kano zone, Sheikh Muhammad Mahmud Turi and the entire brothers and sisters in the fold of the movement.
He called on the Sheikh Zakzaky his followers, and entire peoples of the country to continue to pray to God to prevent future occurrence.
Governor Ganduje also prayed for the quick recovery of those who sustained injuries in the blasts.
He pledged that Kano state government support to those who sustained injuries.
Earlier in an interview, the state Commissioner of Health had pledged the readiness of the state government to pay medical bills of the victims in the two hospitals.
In a related development the number of martyrs of the Friday Bomb attacked on Muslims undertaking Arba’een Symbolic trek reached twenty two (22) with death of some of the injured. 60, who are injured at various degrees, are receiving treatment in hospital. The names of the martyrs will be listed in due course.
Ameer of Kano and leader of Kano Symbolic trek Sheikh Muhammad Mahmud Turi, said, “What befell us along our way Friday, 27/11/2015, is an event that will not surprise us, either the other public figures. Taking a bird’s eye view from what is happening in the midst of dynamic Shi’a Muslims World, is enough for those with sound reasoning. The so-called sovereign powers of the World had pledged to conquered Muslims and Muslims countries across the World.
The scholar categorically denounce that, “We will ever not retreat nor deem any doubt on our religious doctrines, talk less of surrender” further explains that, for over couple of years ago, here in Nigeria, people are familiar with bomb detonations. “We strongly believed that is an act of arrogant countries which is instrumentally executing by their stooges. It is really an act out of faith and Islamic teachings.”
Upon a response as whether the suicide bomber was apprehended red-handed or not. The Sheikh said, “This is out of my knowledge whether he was apprehended or not”.
When asked on number of death toll, the Sheikh responded that, “Right now about 21 (22 presently) victims were confirmed dead(martyred) and many sustained fatal injuries, and they were all on admission in Nasarawa and Murtala Muhammad hospitals in Kano”
In a message to the masses regarding the trek, Sheik Muhammad Mahmud Turi said, “we are in thorough investigation now, so, I cannot categorically say anything right now. But my few words to the perpetrators of all these brutal acts is that, We will ever not retreat nor surrender, as they will not surrender or desists from their irrational sentiments and hostility.
“They should not retreat, by God’s willing; Islam and Muslims will eventually have the upper hand. This is destiny to the right path and to whoever hold fast to this right path”.
