Kano Pillars get new Board Chairman – Muhammad Babangida

Muhammad Babangida has been appointed as the new Board Chairman for Kano Pillars, under a re-organisation announced by Kano State government.

The Kano State government has approved the appointed a new management team for Kano Pillars with Muhammad Babangida as the Board Chairman.

Governor Abdullahi Ganduje has earlier ratified the dissolution of the former board led by Kabiru Baita  due to internal squabble and the team’s poor performance last season.

Babangida’s appointment was approved by Ganduje, according to a statement by ‎Director General, Media and Communications to the Governor, Salihu Yakasai‎.

Ganduje appealed to new management board of the team to ensure that the objective of the administration of restoring the glory of the club was achieved.

He also directed former members of the former board to immediately handover all public property, including finances under it, to the new management.‎

The others members of the board were; Musa Yakasai, Faruk Haladu, Tijjani Minjibir, Sani Lawan, Murtala Zainawa and Yahaya Idris.‎

Kano Pillars finished seventh last season which led Coach Babaganaru Muhammad to resign as head coach of the team after the last match‎ of the season.

NTA recalls that the Kano State Government on Wednesday dissolved the management and board of Kano Pillars Football Club.

Governor Abdullahi Ganduje announced the dissolution in Kano when he hosted Kano Pillars Basket Ball players at the Government House.

Pillars, four-time Nigeria champions, finished in seventh position in the just concluded Nigeria Professional Football League season.‎

Also, It would be recalled that Coach Babaganaru Muhammad resigned as Head Coach of the team after the leading the club to its last match of the season on Oct. 2.

Kano Pillars won the NPFL title back to back in 2012, 2013 and 2014 to join Heartland and Enyimba as the only Nigerian clubs to have won the elite league three times in a row.
