In a show of spiritual solidarity, students and staff of Kashim Shettima Academy in Kumshe organized a special week-long prayer session for the Vice President of Nigeria, His Excellency Kashim Shettima.

Diaspora Digital Media (DDM) reports that the initiative was launched amid growing political tensions and challenges, with the school community seeking divine protection, wisdom, and guidance for the Vice President as he continues to serve the nation.

According to school authorities, the prayers were also aimed at shielding Shettima from political adversaries and fortifying him with strength and clarity in his national duties.

The headmaster of the academy, Malam Alkali Mahmud Muhammad, disclosed that the entire school calendar for the week had been dedicated to spiritual activities.

These include Qur’anic recitations, lectures from Islamic scholars, and group supplications led by students and local community members.

The spiritual program began with an emotional opening session where participants described the Vice President as a visionary leader and a symbol of national unity.

Speaking during the event, several teachers emphasized the Vice President’s significant contributions to Nigeria’s socio-political stability and expressed their collective hope for his continued safety and success.

The school’s initiative, according to Malam Alkali, is not only religious in nature but also a civic gesture to inspire patriotism and leadership consciousness among the students.

He noted that the involvement of young learners in such a noble cause highlights the institution’s commitment to moral and national values.

The Vice President, a former Governor of Borno State, remains a respected figure in the North-East region, and Kashim Shettima Academy, named in his honor, serves as an educational institution focused on academic excellence and civic responsibility.

The program also received endorsements from local leaders and religious figures, with many hailing it as a timely and commendable expression of community support.

The event was widely shared on social media platforms, including a Facebook post by Honourable Abdoulahy Muh’d Lua, a media aide to the former Borno State Governor.

The prayer sessions will continue throughout the week, with various faith-based activities scheduled to reinforce the school’s message for loyalty and national service.
