Katsina State Police announces January crime-fighting milestones

On February 7, 2025, the Katsina State Police Command detailed its crime-fighting strategies during a press briefing.

During the event, the Force spokesperson emphasized operational successes, crediting officers’ tireless efforts and stakeholders’ collaborative support.

During the review period, the police arrested a total of forty-five (45) suspects linked to fifty-two (52) reported major crimes.

These offenses included armed robbery, culpable homicide, kidnapping, and rape.

Authorities apprehended four suspected kidnappers and six suspects linked to culpable homicide.

Additionally, they arrested seven armed robbery suspects and three alleged informants for bandits.

Moreover, thirty-two individuals faced charges related to various other offenses.

Moreover, the Command neutralized eleven (11) suspected armed bandits in operations aimed at dismantling criminal networks.

In addition, eighty-five (85) kidnapped victims were successfully rescued, and two hundred and thirteen (213) suspected rustled animals were recovered.

These achievements reflect the unwavering commitment of the police to safeguarding lives and property in Katsina State.

The Command recovered various items used in criminal activities.

Specifically, they included four rounds of live AK-47 ammunition, three motorcycles, and five vandalized street solar lights.

In addition, they seized two machetes, two sharp knives, one digger, and several vandalized armored cables.

These exhibits serve as evidence in ongoing investigations and prosecutions.

Commending the officers and personnel for their hard work, the spokesperson emphasized that these accomplishments are a testament to the dedication of the police force.

The Command expressed gratitude to key stakeholders for their support.

Moreover, special appreciation went to Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, PhD, NPM, highlighting his exceptional leadership and guidance.

The Katsina State Government, led by His Excellency Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, PhD, received acknowledgment for its unwavering support.
