Reality TV star and actor Saga Adeolu has opened up about the reality behind romantic scenes in films, revealing that they are far less glamorous than they appear on screen.

In an interview with Saturday Beats, Saga described acting as both demanding and deeply fulfilling, noting that Nollywood is one of the toughest industries he has experienced.

“It has been a lot. I tell people Nollywood is one of the toughest things I have ever done. It’s also one of the most pleasurable things at the same time. I enjoy acting. It’s tough. People think acting is easy, but I love it,” he said.

Addressing his widely known “lover boy” image, the actor admitted that it mirrors his real-life personality, adding that he has no issues being associated with that identity.

“I am a lover boy in real life, so I don’t mind,” he said.

However, Saga was quick to correct misconceptions about romantic scenes, particularly kissing moments often portrayed as passionate and enjoyable. According to him, such scenes are strictly professional and lack the emotional or sensual appeal audiences might imagine.

“I didn’t make the statement because of a bad kiss. A lot of times when people see us kiss in movies, they think we are enjoying it. There is no fun in there because we are acting. So it’s not like it’s sweet or sexy or anything. It’s just our work,” he explained.

His remarks offer a behind-the-scenes perspective on filmmaking, highlighting the level of discipline and professionalism required of actors, even in scenes that appear intimate on screen.
