Justin Kluivert ended Newcastle’s remarkable nine-game winning streak by netting an outstanding hat-trick.

As a result, Bournemouth boosted their hopes for European football with a victory at St James’ Park.

Kluivert, whose father Patrick once played for the Magpies, scored twice around Bruno Guimaraes’ equalizer, sealing the deal late in the game.

Milos Kerkez contributed a fourth goal, extending Bournemouth’s unbeaten run to 11 matches, including 10 league victories.

Head coach Andoni Iraola must have been thrilled with the team’s performance, as they truly earned those three points.

They disrupted Eddie Howe’s side, who were vying for a temporary third-place spot.

Interestingly, striker Alexander Isak’s remarkable eight-game scoring streak came to an abrupt halt during this match, signaling a significant change in momentum.

Bournemouth quickly took control of the game, forcing Newcastle into early blunders.

Just two minutes in, Sandro Tonali made a vital intervention, denying David Brooks after he darted past Lewis Hall.

Sadly, for Newcastle, they overlooked this early warning, allowing Bournemouth to build confidence as the match went on.

Antoine Semenyo almost put Bournemouth ahead after Martin Dubravka stopped Dango Ouattara’s shot.

Unfortunately, Semenyo squandered the chance by shooting over the bar.

However, this miss was short-lived since Ryan Christie later set up Kluivert, who capitalized on Jacob Murphy’s mistake, scoring the opener and putting Bournemouth ahead.

Newcastle quickly equalized when Guimaraes headed in from Hall’s corner.

Nonetheless, Dan Burn displayed his defensive prowess, blocking Lewis Cook’s efforts to create more chances.

The match unfolded at a frenetic pace, with both teams striving for dominance and testing each other’s defenses.

Just before the halftime whistle, Bournemouth regained the lead when Christie intercepted Guimaraes and assisted Kluivert.

He confidently finished, marking his fourth goal in three games.

Kepa Arrizabalaga also had to react swiftly, parrying a powerful shot from Tonali as the first half ended, justly leaving Newcastle trailing.

After the break, Newcastle faced a potential disaster when Fabian Schar’s mistake nearly let Brooks score.

Thankfully, Dubravka managed to save the weak attempt.

A significant escape occurred when Ouattara’s effort struck the post, and VAR eventually disallowed a follow-up goal due to an earlier out-of-play call.

Dean Huijsen blocked a fierce volley from Gordon, but a mistake on his part allowed Kluivert to complete his hat-trick.

He finished emphatically during stoppage time, and Kerkez rounded off the victory, ensuring Bournemouth celebrated a well-deserved win.
