Kwara Church Attack: ‘Resign Now,’ Falz Tells Tinubu

Nigerian rapper and activist Folarin Falana, popularly known as Falz, has called on President Bola Tinubu to resign, following the deadly attack on Christ Apostolic Church (CAC), Oke Isegun, Eruku, in Kwara State’s Ekiti Local Government Area.

Falz made the demand in a post on his X handle on Wednesday, accusing the president of failing in his fundamental duty to protect Nigerian lives and property.

He described the government’s inaction as unacceptable amid rising insecurity.

The Kwara State Police confirmed that the attack occurred around 6 p.m. on November 18. Local security operatives and vigilantes reportedly engaged the assailants and eventually repelled them.

During the assault, the gunmen invaded the church during service, killing at least one person and abducting several worshippers. The attack sent shockwaves across the state, highlighting ongoing insecurity concerns.

Falz expressed his frustration directly at President Tinubu, questioning how many more lives must be lost before decisive action is taken.

“How many more people have to be kidnapped and murdered in cold blood? How many more lives do you want to waste? How many more futures do you wish to erase with your incompetence and inaction?” he asked in his posts.

Falz continued, “You have consistently shown your unwillingness to protect the lives and property of our people despite pretending to care in the past. RESIGN NOW!”

The rapper’s statements reflect growing public criticism over the government’s response to security challenges in Nigeria. Attacks on places of worship and the kidnapping of civilians have intensified calls for urgent reforms and stronger protection measures across vulnerable regions.

Kwara residents and civil society groups have also condemned the attack, urging the federal government to bolster security in the state, which serves as a critical link between northern and southern Nigeria.

Falz’s message adds to the chorus of voices demanding accountability, as Nigerians grapple with persistent insecurity, kidnappings, and attacks on religious communities.
