Lagos, Nigeria – The Chairman of the Lagos State Labour Party, Mrs. Adedayo Ekong, has firmly denied reports of her suspension, calling them false and unfounded.

In a statement released on recently, she addressed allegations of her expulsion by a dissenting faction. She asserted that the claims were fabricated by expelled members who violated party rules. Furthermore, she stressed that their actions disregarded a standing court order.

Mrs. Ekong declared, We categorically reject these deliberate lies designed to mislead the public and disrupt our party’s stability in Lagos.” She reaffirmed her legitimacy as the only lawfully recognized chairman. Additionally, she dismissed the suspensions as unconstitutional, emphasizing that unauthorized individuals lacked the authority to enforce them.

She clarified, “The group led by Rotimi Odunaike remains illegitimate and in contempt of court, repeatedly violating our party’s constitution.” Moreover, she noted that their announcements were invalid and unsupported by the national leadership under Barrister Julius Abure. Mrs. Ekong reassured party members and the public of her unwavering commitment to her role.
