Lagos police capture 31 armed robbers within 7 days

Lagos State police commissioner on Friday said that 31 armed robbery suspects were arrested in different parts of Lagos State, within seven days.

Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Fatai Owoseni on a weekly briefing today, Friday said that 31 armed robbery suspects were arrested in different parts of Lagos State, within seven days.

The CP said that the arrest were made at Ojota, Oshodi, Victoria Island, Ikeja, Ikorodu, Igando and Anthony Village, all within Lagos State.

He also said the leader of the militant group that terrorized Igando area had been arrested on Friday. 

Mr. Fatai Owoseni said that some of the suspects, trail bank customers, from banks and attack them.

Others attack people at Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) bus stop in the morning. 

Motorists are also robbed at traffic. 

“Items recovered from the hoodlums include a Beretta pistol, two locally made short guns, cartridges, ammunition, charms, speed boat and 12 vehicles.”

Continuing he said “they will be charged to court soon”.

He called on personnel of his police command to be alert always. 

He reminded them that extra vigilance should be kept especially these ember months and during celebration periods like the upcoming Salah.

It should be noted, that for the past months armed robbers and miscreants had been terrorizing different parts of Lagos, of recent.
