To enforce traffic laws effectively, the Lagos State Taskforce has launched a strict operation against defiant motorcycle operators, popularly called Okada riders.
These riders persistently violate bans on restricted routes, highways, and bridges across the state.
Consequently, authorities have impounded 139 motorcycles within a short timeframe.
CSP Adetayo Akerele, the Taskforce Chairman, disclosed that recent raids targeted key areas such as Alakija, Iyana–iba, Abule-ado Agric bus stop, and Ojo Barrack.
Notably, these locations were flagged as high-risk zones where Okada riders repeatedly broke traffic rules.
