Lakurawa terrorists gun down 2 policemen in Kebbi

Suspected members of the Lakurawa terrorist organization have reportedly killed two police officers and rustled over 200 cows in Natsini village, Argungu Local Government Area of Kebbi State.
NewsBand gathered that the incident occurred late Thursday around 11pm.
According to sources, over 50 armed criminals arrived on motorcycles, targeting a checkpoint along the Augie/Kangiwa road.
After overpowering the officers stationed there, they proceeded to raid a local ranch, making off with the cattle.
Mr. Abubakar Augie, a resident, identified the ranch owner as a prominent civil servant named Lawali Black.
“The Lakurawa were more than 50 on motorcycles; after overpowering the few policemen at the checkpoint, they went to where the cows were kept in his ranch and went away with them,” he said.
Meanwhile, the attack was confirmed by Aliyu Gulma, Argungu Local Government chairman.
He said that security operatives have been directed to track down the attackers and recover the stolen livestock.
“We are holding a security meeting on the matter, and efforts are underway to address the situation,” he said.
The village of Natsini, located about five kilometers from Argungu town, has been on edge following the attack.
Kebbi State police command is yet to issue a statement in respect to the development.
