Content creator and entertainer Lande has shared a troubling account of an encounter he says he and his brother had with officers of the Nigerian police in Ajah.
In an emotional narration posted online, Lande described the incident as a mix of oppression, intimidation, extortion and outright theft. According to him, what began as a routine interaction quickly escalated into violence.
Lande alleged that he and his brother were stopped by officers and questioned, but the situation became heated when demands were allegedly made of them. He claimed that despite attempts to remain calm and explain themselves, the officers resorted to force.
The entertainer further stated that he was physically assaulted, while personal belongings were allegedly taken from them during the confrontation. He said the experience left both of them shaken and humiliated.
“This is really sad,” he lamented in the video, insisting that citizens should be able to move freely without fear of harassment from those meant to protect them.
The claims have triggered reactions across social media, with many Nigerians expressing anger and frustration. Several commenters called for accountability and urged the authorities to investigate the officers involved. Others pointed to the long-standing public concerns about police conduct, harassment and unlawful demands.
As of the time of this report, the Nigerian police have not issued an official statement regarding Lande’s allegations.
