(DDM) – A supervisor at a Las Vegas casino has been identified as the individual who legally purchased and later sold the gun and vehicle used in Monday’s fatal mass shooting in Midtown Manhattan.

Diaspora Digital Media (DDM) gathered that the supervisor, who worked alongside the shooter Shane Devon Tamura at the same casino, assembled an M4 assault-style rifle and sold it to him for $1,400, according to law enforcement officials.

Authorities also revealed that the same supervisor sold Tamura the car he used to drive from Nevada to New York to carry out the attack.

The supervisor is currently cooperating with federal and local investigators.

Tamura’s parents are also said to be cooperating with authorities as they try to understand what led their son to commit such a deadly act.

On Monday evening, Tamura, 27, entered 345 Park Avenue in Manhattan carrying the assault-style weapon and opened fire.

He killed four people, injured another, and ultimately died by suicide at the scene, making the incident the deadliest recorded shooting in New York City since 2013, according to Gun Violence Archive data.

A handwritten note found in Tamura’s pocket indicated that he believed he was suffering from Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE), a degenerative brain disease linked to repeated head injuries and often associated with football players.

In the note, Tamura expressed deep grievances toward the National Football League (NFL), blaming it for what he believed was a severe mental and neurological decline.

Although Tamura had no known affiliation with professional sports, the note has raised questions about his mental health and potential undiagnosed conditions.

Law enforcement is now reviewing his medical history and online activity to determine whether he had self-diagnosed or experienced psychological distress related to head trauma.

Tuesday evening, hundreds gathered in Bryant Park to honor the victims with a candlelight vigil, mourning those lost and calling for urgent reforms in gun control and mental health services.

Investigators from the FBI and ATF are assisting with the broader probe, which includes analyzing the weapon’s components and how it was acquired and assembled.

The legal status of the supervisor’s private firearm sale remains under review, though no charges have been filed as of yet.

Advocates are calling for tighter regulations on ghost guns, privately assembled firearms, and unregistered weapon transfers that often go undetected until tragedy strikes.

Names of the four victims have not yet been officially released, pending notifications to their families.

Meanwhile, authorities say psychological support is being offered to survivors, eyewitnesses, and the staff at the office building where the horror unfolded.
