LASG, Red Cross forge stronger partnership for humanitarian support

The Lagos State Government (LASG), through the Ministry of Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation (WAPA), has reaffirmed its commitment to addressing critical social challenges.

In particular, it seeks to strengthen its partnership with the Red Cross Society of Nigeria, Lagos State Branch.

Mr. Segun Akande, serving as Vice Chairman, demonstrated this dedication during an advocacy visit by a Red Cross delegation. He actively led the team, highlighting his commitment to the organization’s mission and values.

During this visit, the Honourable Commissioner for Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Hon. Bolaji Cecilia Dada, warmly welcomed the delegation.

She warmly acknowledged the Red Cross Society’s steadfast commitment to humanitarian service. Simultaneously, she emphasized the strong alignment between WAPA’s goals and the organization’s key focus areas.

During the visit, Mr. Segun Akande highlighted key focus areas of the Red Cross Society, such as disaster relief, food security advocacy, and empowerment initiatives.

He announced that Hon. Dada would soon be honored as a Platinum Member, recognizing her ongoing support for humanitarian efforts in the upcoming engagement.

Additionally, Mr. Lasisi praised WAPA’s commitment to poverty alleviation and skill acquisition programs for women.

He affirmed that the Red Cross wholeheartedly supports the Ministry’s initiatives to create sustainable impacts in the lives of Lagos residents.
