A serious legal dispute is about to erupt in the family of Dr. Herbert Wigwe, former Group Managing Director of Access Holdings over the execution of his will.

NewsBand reported in February that Wigwe died in a fatal helicopter crash, alongside his wife and son in the United States.

According to a report by Daily Independent, Herbert Wigwe’s parents have lodged a caveat at the Probate Registry, seeking to challenge the distribution of his estate as outlined in his will.

The caveat, NewsBand understand was filed under the direction of Pastor Shyngle Wigwe, Herbert’s father, and supported by an affidavit from Christian Chukwuka Wigwe, who claims to be Herbert’s cousin.

Though, this legal decision aims to alter the instructions given by the late bank Chief regarding the administration of his estate.

Mr Shyngle Wigwe has requested that 20% of Herbert’s estate be given to him and other family members, a move that goes against Herbert’s will, which states that his wealth be shared strictly among his children.

The will was lodged at the Ikeja Probate Court before to Herbert’s untimely passing.

Moreover, while reports highlight disturbing incidents within the family, including a three-month detention of Emeka Wigwe, one of Herbert’s brothers, at Panti Police Station by their father, Pastor Shyngle Wigwe, following a dispute with another sibling.

This incident reportedly stemmed from a heated face-off over family matters.

However, as friends and associates continue to mourn Dr. Wigwe’s unfortunate death, the unfolding family tensions have stirred public interest and concern.

The situation reflects deeper issues within the Wigwe family that were previously concealed by Herbert’s public success and stature in the banking sector.
