Lekki Central Mosque puts up another controversial banner day after pulling down ‘Jesus is not God’ banner

After pulling down a controversial banner on Wednesday, which almost ignited confusion between Christians and their Muslim folks, the Lekki Central Mosque on Thursday, put up another controversial one.

The first banner which stirred heated debates online and drew the ire of the Christian community, was placed at the entrance gate of the Mosque with the inscription, “Jesus Christ is not God! He is a prophet and messenger of God!”

Many Christians noted that the banner was a direct attack on their faith at a time they are preparing to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ.

The ensuing controversy led to the abrupt removal of the banner.

A member of the Lekki Muslim Community, Lekan Alabi, filmed himself at the front of the mosque where the banner was initially hung to show the public that it had been removed.

The place the banner was hung was empty.

However, by Thursday, a new banner has been put there, and the content, yet again is generating angry reactions among Christians.

The new banner reads, “No diety (sic) is worthy of worship except Allah the Lord of Jesus Christ, Abraham, Jacob, Joseph, Moses, Muhammed, & all prophets”.
