Libya Defeats Nigeria At U23 AFCON Qualifying Match

Libya defeated Nigeria’s Under-23 Team at the U23 AFCON qualifying match in which the North Africans hosted their West African counterpart.

Libya had taken the lead in the sixth minute of action.

Nigeria’s woes were compounded when barely five minutes to the end of first half the goalkeeper, Adamu was sent off after he handled the ball outside his area.

Just before the break, substitute goalkeeper, Oremade was brought on to replace Adamu in goal while Dennis Bonaventure was taken off

Too much of midfield play by the U23 team, hoping they turn this into more predatory moves in the final third.

Libya double their lead in the 69th minute via a sleek counter-attack move.

Muyiwa Olabiran was later substituted as Chidera Ezeh was brought in.

The match ended Libya 2-0 Nigeria at full time.

The second leg comes up on Monday 25th, March 2019 at the Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba.
