The Caring Family Enhancement Initiative (CAFE) is a pet project of Mrs Ebele Obiano, Osidieme, the wife of Governor Obiano.
On August 18, 2016, Osodieme was at Aforigwe in Umudioka, Dunukofia LGA to commission a toilet which CAFE claimed it built in the market for the use of the market men and women.
But APGA Interactive Forum did an investigation and discovered that the toilet was not built by CAFE.
It is quite unfortunate that Osodieme has learnt from her husband how to claim and commission people’s project since their administration came into power in 2013.
Over 90% of all the projects commissioned by Obiano were done and completed by Peter Obi.
The Forum was shocked to discover that the toilet which CAFÉ claimed it built at Umudioka market and was commissioned by Osodieme on Thursday last week was actually built in 2012 during the administration of Hon. Onochie Okagbue, former L.G.A chairman of Dunukofia.
Hon Onochie Okagbue who was a transition committee chairman of Dunukofia under Peter Obi built the toilet at the cost of about 1.4 million naira in 2012, the Forum learnt.
But in 2016, the First Lady through her pet project called CAFE renovated the toilet at the cost of 3.8 million naira.
It gave it a new paint and told the world that the toilet was built by CAFE from scratch.
A source said, the project which was done through direct labour was supervised by one Hon. Chief Francis Obi, from Umudioka.
CAFE is not a govt institution and going to claim a govt project is an aberration.
Recall that early this year, the Forum busted a CAFE scam where it was alleged that the NGO used the whooping sum of 43.1 million naira to build a two bedroom bungalow for a widow.
