Diaspora Digital Media understands that
Liverpool’s Vice Captain Trent Alexander-Arnold is snubbing contract proposals presented to him by the cub.
He is inching closer to joining Spanish giants Real Madrid.
The defender has been at Liverpool since 2004, and broke into the first team in 2016 under erstwhile manager Jurgen Klopp.
With his contract expiring at the end of the season, Alexander-Arnold will join Bernabeu as a free agent.
Since then, Alexander-Arnold has won the lot, lifting the Champions League trophy in 2019 and the Premier League title a year later, as well as picking up an FA Cup and two League Cups.
The information has been corroborated by reliable media houses including the Real Madrid-affiliated Marca, AS, Sky, and Daily Mail of UK.
DDM gathered that the decision to pursue the star increased in recent weeks in light of Dani Carvajal’s persisting injury problems and his advanced age (he turns 33 in January 2025) and utility player Lucas Vazquez’s unconvincing performances at right back.
Liverpool also have to sort out niggling contract issues regarding captain Virgil van Dijk and potent poacher Mohamed Salah – the duo’s contract expires at the end of the season.
