PARIS, France — Jelicia Westhoff, the former partner of Super Eagles goalkeeper Maduka Okoye, has publicly called out the Nigerian shot-stopper on social media, accusing him of being a “deadbeat dad” and neglecting their child, following rumours that he is dating American rapper Cardi B.
Westhoff made the allegations on her Instagram story shortly after speculation began that Okoye, 26, and Cardi B, 33, are romantically involved. The rumours started when the pair were seen together at Paris Fashion Week, with Okoye spotted assisting the rapper to her seat.
The relationship rumour sparked outrage among fans, some of whom questioned Okoye’s commitment to his son and his ex-lover, who is believed to be based in the Netherlands. Jelicia Westhoff responded with several posts on her Instagram story, accusing the Udinese goalkeeper of failing to provide financial support for their son.
“Just so you guys know, this man has never paid a dime for his son’s well-being. He is a deadbeat,” Westhoff wrote in one of the posts.
She further accused Okoye of abandoning his responsibilities after a disagreement. “Runs to Paris Fashion Week with his brand new babe, playing daddy of the year to a child he’s neglected for months,” she added.
While Okoye is yet to respond to the allegations, his recent social media activity suggests he has been enjoying his time in France, sharing pictures of his attendance at the high-profile fashion event. The goalkeeper, who has been in fine form for Udinese, has also been a regular feature for the Super Eagles.
Neither Okoye nor Cardi B have confirmed or denied the dating rumours. Cardi B, who has been vocal about her personal life in the past, has not addressed the speculation publicly. However, the rumour has generated significant attention on social media, with fans sharing their views on the matter.
The situation has put Okoye’s personal life under intense scrutiny. While he continues to focus on his football career, the allegations from his ex-lover have raised questions about his personal conduct. For now, the Super Eagles goalkeeper has not issued any public statement regarding the claims made by Westhoff. The public will be watching to see how he responds to the allegations, and whether he chooses to address the situation directly or maintain his silence on the matter.
