A man simply identified as Ogbonna has been arrested for allegedly killing his former girlfriend, Chisom Ayogu, at his residence in Nsukka Local Government Area of Enugu State.
According to Vanguard, the unfortunate incident occurred after Chisom, a native of Amufie in Igbo-Eze North Local Government Area, visited Ogbonna at his home on New Anglican Road, Nsukka, to inform him about her upcoming wedding.
During the visit, Ogbonna reportedly assaulted her.
When help arrived, Chisom was found unconscious and was quickly taken to a nearby hospital.
Unfortunately, medical personnel declared her dead on arrival.
The suspect, Ogbonna, who is from Igogoro community, also in Igbo-Eze North Local Government Area, has been taken into police custody for questioning as investigations continue.
