Police have confirmed that a man has died from gunshot wounds sustained during wild celebrations to mark Napoli’s first Italian championship win in 33 years late on Thursday.
The incident also reportedly left two other wounded as authorities investigate whether it was accidental or not, while several more were hospitalized with firework injuries.
Napoli secured only their third Serie A championship – and first since the late Diego Maradona inspired them to the 1990 title – with a 1-1 draw away to Udinese on Thursday.
