A heated argument between two young men in Massasara Ward, Yusufari Local Government Area of Yobe State, has ended in tragedy after one of them was stabbed to death during a fight.
Security analyst Zagazola Makama revealed the incident on his verified X (formerly Twitter) page.
He said it happened on Friday morning, when 20-year-old Yunusa Yusuf and 22-year-old Gako Suleh reportedly clashed during a heated argument that turned violent.
According to eyewitnesses, the two men engaged in a dispute that quickly spiraled out of control.
In the heat of the argument, Yunusa allegedly pulled a knife and stabbed Gako in the stomach.
The victim was immediately rushed to a nearby clinic in Kumaganam, where medical personnel confirmed him dead upon arrival.
Residents of Massasara described the incident as shocking and deeply painful, noting that both young men were well-known in the community.
One eyewitness, who asked not to be named, said the fight started over a minor disagreement but escalated when tempers flared.
After the stabbing, the suspect fled the scene before local security personnel could intervene.
Police in Yusufari Division have since launched a manhunt for the fleeing suspect.
Authorities say efforts are ongoing to track and arrest him.
Yobe State Police Command has yet to issue an official statement, but a senior officer familiar with the case confirmed that investigations are underway to determine the exact cause of the confrontation.
Meanwhile, the deceased, Gako Suleh, has been laid to rest according to Islamic burial rites, as family members and friends mourned his untimely death.
