A 23-year-old man, Abdulazeez Abubakar, has been arrested for allegedly stabbing his childhood friend, Sadiq Sani, 20, to death following an argument over sachet water in Minna, Niger State.
The incident occurred on Wednesday evening in the Dutsen-Kura-Hausa area of Minna, along Adamawa Road, during preparations for Maghrib prayers. Eyewitnesses said the disagreement, which began over sachet water intended for ablution, escalated into a violent confrontation.
During the altercation, Abubakar reportedly drew a sharp object and stabbed the victim, inflicting severe injuries. Sani was rushed for medical attention but later succumbed to his wounds.
Confirming the incident, the spokesperson of the Niger State Police Command, SP Wasiu Abiodun, said the suspect has been arrested and is currently under investigation.
