A 40-year-old man, Mr. Yau Ari Dawa from Yobe State, has landed in police net after stabbing his neighbour to death during a heated face-off over suspicion of infidelity involving his wife.
Security expert, Zagazola Makama while quoting sources, report that the unfortunate incident occurred around 11:30pm on Wednesday night, when Dawa reportedly accused 35-year-old Mallam Faji Gana of having an affair with his 25-year-old wife, Noja Yau.
“The confrontation quickly turned violent,” the sources revealed, adding that Dawa allegedly stabbed Gana in the abdomen with a knife during the scuffle.
A nearby resident reported the matter to the police in the wee hours of Thursday after the altercation.
Gana was taken to the Specialist Hospital in Geidam, where he was confirmed dead upon arrival by medical staff.
Following the incident, officers from the Yobe State Police Command arrested Dawa.
