Manchester City has issued a strong statement condemning the online racist abuse directed at Kyle Walker after Wednesday’s Champions League defeat.

Following the 2-0 loss to Juventus, Walker faced intense criticism from fans, as Pep Guardiola’s team struggles with only one win in their last ten matches.

Walker, who captained the team and played the full match, confirmed he received “vile” racist messages on Instagram after the game.

The 34-year-old shared a screenshot of the abusive message from an unknown account, emphasizing that no one deserves such treatment.

He urged Instagram and authorities to take action against this unacceptable behavior.

Shortly after his post, Manchester City released their own statement on their official website, strongly condemning the abuse He experienced online.

The club reiterated its commitment to combating discrimination in all forms, whether in stadiums or online.

Unfortunately, this isn’t Walker’s first encounter with racial abuse; he experienced similar incidents in April 2021 after winning the EFL Cup.

Since joining Manchester City from Tottenham Hotspur in 2017, Walker has made 315 appearances, contributing significantly to the club’s success.

He has helped secure 17 trophies, including six Premier League titles and one Champions League.

Fans anticipate Walker’s participation in the upcoming Premier League match against Manchester United this Sunday at the Etihad Stadium.
