Manchester City have officially announced the signing of Algerian international Rayan Aït-Nouri from Wolverhampton Wanderers. The 24-year-old left-back has joined the Premier League champions on a five-year deal, as confirmed by the club on Monday via their official website.

Aït-Nouri, known for his dynamic playing style and attacking prowess, becomes the latest addition to Pep Guardiola’s squad. With prior Premier League experience, the Algerian defender is expected to seamlessly align with City’s high-intensity and possession-based approach to the game.

Having faced Manchester City eight times during his tenure with Wolves, Aït-Nouri is no stranger to the quality and competitiveness of his new team. Reflecting on his move, he expressed his enthusiasm for joining the club.

“It will be crazy because we know this squad is top, top level, Aït-Nouri stated. “Every player I played against at City made it very hard because their quality is incredible. For sure, I want to learn from them in training and in matches.”

Aït-Nouri will also reunite with former Wolves teammate Matheus Nunes, who joined Manchester City earlier this year. Speaking about their reunion, Aït-Nouri shared, “I have spoken with him. We were always together when we were at Wolves. We didn’t discuss football much; instead, we talked about life in Manchester. I am very excited to join up with Matheus again.”

The Algerian international’s arrival is part of Guardiola’s efforts to refresh his squad ahead of the upcoming season. City are expected to integrate Aït-Nouri into their pre-season preparations as they aim to defend their domestic and European titles.
