Manchester United are in advanced talks to sign Brentford winger Bryan Mbeumo this summer.

The 25-year-old forward is open to a move to Old Trafford after a stellar 2024/25 Premier League season, Diaspora Digital Media (DDM) reports.

He scored 20 goals and registered seven assists in 38 appearances, making it his most productive campaign to date.

Only Mohamed Salah, Alexander Isak, and Erling Haaland scored more Premier League goals than Mbeumo last season.

Brentford have placed a £60 million price tag on the Cameroonian, which would be a club-record sale.

Their current record is the £40 million transfer of Ivan Toney, completed last year.

Manchester United appear ready to meet Brentford’s valuation to secure the winger’s signature.

Mbeumo is also seeking a salary of around £250,000 per week at his next club.

This would represent a major increase from his current £50,000-a-week wage at the Gtech Community Stadium.

The deal would mark a significant financial commitment for United as they rebuild after a poor season.

Mbeumo’s contract with Brentford is set to expire in the summer of 2026.

However, with only one year left, Brentford are eager to avoid losing him for free next summer.

The club’s stance is to capitalise on his form while his market value remains high.

Brentford manager Thomas Frank has admitted the club could sell if the price is right.

“I’d like to keep him, but we are a selling club,” Frank said earlier this year.

Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim is reportedly a key factor in Mbeumo’s interest in the move.

The pair are said to have a strong relationship from earlier in their careers.

Newcastle United have also shown interest, but Mbeumo prefers a switch to Manchester United.

Diaspora Digital Media (DDM) understands Amorim wants to strengthen United’s attack after a dismal 15th-place finish last season.

The club failed to qualify for Europe and is determined to bounce back in the coming campaign.

They have already signed Brazilian forward Matheus Cunha from Wolves for £62.5 million.

United also lost the race to sign young striker Liam Delap, who joined Chelsea instead.

With Mbeumo, United aim to add proven Premier League experience and versatility to their forward line.

The winger’s pace, goal-scoring ability, and creativity are viewed as crucial for the team’s resurgence.

Mbeumo’s signing would give United a much-needed boost ahead of next season’s European qualification push.

The Red Devils want their major summer deals completed early to allow squad cohesion during pre-season.

Negotiations are progressing quickly, with both parties eager to reach an agreement before the window intensifies.

If completed, the transfer would be Mbeumo’s biggest move and Brentford’s most lucrative outgoing deal ever.

It would also signal Manchester United’s renewed ambition to reclaim a top spot in English football.

Supporters will hope Mbeumo’s arrival marks the beginning of a successful new chapter at Old Trafford.
